Clyde "Boy" Lee Ricks returned to the loving arms of his mother and father on December 5, 2016. He was born April 3, 1959, in Rexburg Idaho, the 5th son of Milton J Ricks and LaReena Nelson Ricks.
In Rexburg, he had a loving and lively childhood with 3 older brothers and 3 sisters to play with. Clyde loved celebrating all the Holidays with his family, especially Christmas and the 4th of July. He looked forward to the yearly family vacation to Utah to visit cousins and ride horses on Uncle Oscars farm. Clyde had many friends at Upper Valley Industries and enjoyed bowling, Special Olympics and dances with them. In 1988 they moved to a small farm in the Lyman area, south of Rexburg. Clyde enjoyed living on the farm. After his mom, LaReena, died, his dad married Martha and Clyde welcomed his new mom. In 2004 they moved to St. Anthony.
Clyde attended North Fork for a few years until they closed, then he rode the bus to Upper Valley Industries in Rexburg. While at UVI he did piece work for Artco and was proud to be receiving a paycheck. His father ,Milton died in 2007 and Clyde continued to live with Martha his step mother. In 2008 he moved to Ashton with his step mother and new step father Clifford. Looking for warmer climate they moved to Sweet Home, Oregon in 2010. Clyde enjoyed fireworks at the lake and parades and church parties. In 2014 they returned to St. Anthony Idaho and in March 2015 they moved back to the Lyman Area south of Rexburg. Clyde attended Journeys in Rexburg, Idaho. In November 2015 they moved to Rigby and Clyde attended Journeys in Rigby.
Clyde is survived by his step parents Martha and Cliff Nichols; and by brothers and sisters, Jay E and Paula Ricks, Duane Oscar and Sandra Ricks, Val Gene and Loretta Ricks, Naomi Jean and Daniel Bird, Theo Annika L Knillsson, Pamela Ricks, and Thomas and Michelle King. and 25 nieces and nephews and their spouses. He is preceded in death by brother Randy Ricks , mother LaReena Nelson Ricks and father Milton J Ricks and nephew Randy Thomson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 12, at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg. The family will receive friends Monday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home prior to services. Interment will be in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery.
Clyde will be missed by all family and friends. He was a light to all of us and showed us the true meaning of Christmas and Life.
