Cora Ley Erikson passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 6, 2025. Cora Ley was born in Rexburg on August 5, 1939 to Stanley and Glenice Smith Anderson.

She was raised on a 60 acre farm in the Independence area of Rexburg. The family had animals and raised grain and potatoes. She spent a lot of time swimming with her cousins and friends. She wrote in a personal history, "If everyone could have a childhood like mine, the world would be a great place."

In 1959, she married Keith Raymond Erikson in the Idaho Falls temple. Together, they raised 7 children on the family farm where their kids learned, by example, the value of hard work.

She enjoyed doing anything with her family. Her home was the place for many family gatherings. Boating, waterskiing, and riding her jet ski were some of her favorite activities.

She loved meeting new people and learning their stories. She was a very optimistic and happy person.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in various organizations in the church. Her favorite callings involved children. She loved serving in Primary and served as long as her health would allow. In 2011-2012 Keith and Cora Ley served a mission in Raleigh, North Carolina.

She is survived by her 7 children: Elaine Erikson of Salt Lake City, Utah; Ron Erikson of Rexburg; Susan (Pete) Blunck of Rexburg; Diane (Darren) Klingler of Rexburg; Stan (Jamie) Erikson of Rexburg; Michelle (Kevin) Wellard of Billings, Montana; and Doug (Cheme') Erikson of Rexburg; 23 grandkids, 28 great-grandkids, and 3 more on the way.

Cora Ley was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her four younger sisters, Ellen Seedall, Sharla Lichtenberg, Reva Johnson, and Eunice Tsantis; and a great-grandson, Broc Stoddard.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at the Rexburg Stake Center.  The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home and again from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.  The interment will be at the Burton Cemetery.
