Cora May Hathaway Smith, 86, of Sugar City, passed away July 24, 2023 at Homestead Senior Living of causes incident to age.

She was born June 16, 1937, in Chester, Idaho to Delbert Earl and Claudia Margaret May Hathaway.  She attended schools in St. Anthony and graduated from South Fremont High School.

She married Delmo Smith on June 16, 1956, in Sugar City.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple.  They lived and raised their family in Sugar City.  Delmo passed away on December 27, 2007.

Cora was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint.  She enjoyed teaching the children in Primary and also served in the library.

She enjoyed doing all kinds of crafts, cross-stitching, and crocheting.  She loved to put together jigsaw puzzles.

She loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren.

Cora is survived by her children, Vickie Smith of Rexburg, Tracy (Corrina) Smith of Salem, Paula Smith of Blackfoot; brothers, Lewis Hathaway of Ogden, Utah, Ralph (Jan) Hathaway of Riverton, Utah, Arlo (Vicki) Hathaway of Murray, Utah; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Delmo; three brothers, Murlan, Ted, and LaMar Hathaway; and a granddaughter, Malina Stratton.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 29, at the Sugar City LDS Gray Chapel.  The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg, and Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the chapel prior to services.  Burial will be in the Wilford Cemetery.
