Cornelie "Corrie" van der Hoeven Kolditz, 90, of Rexburg, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2015. She was born October 11, 1924, in Borneo, Indonesia to Bernard and Hermine Loke van der Hoeven.
She married her sweetheart, Wilhelm Carl Kolditz on April 3, 1947. Together they had two sons, Wilhelm (Lily) and Walter (Rosie), nine grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Corrie loved life and although she had many struggles growing up she never lost faith in a God she knew loved her and watched over her. Her motto was "Bloom where you are planted". In 1951, her family left Indonesia and moved to the Netherlands. Then in 1960, they began a new life immigrating to the United States, settling in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In 1978, they moved to Idaho living in Goshen and then Rexburg.
She was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served diligently wherever she was called. Later she and her husband served two full-time missions to Holland.
She is survived by her husband Wilhelm Carl Kolditz, two sisters, Willy van der Hoeven and Maud Maat, a brother Lex van der Hoeven; sons Wilhelm (Lily) and Walter (Rosie); nine grandchildren, Ross (Dixie) Kolditz, Lisa (David) Blanchard, Jennifer (Jason) Smith, Joie Kolditz, Brandon (Tamara) Kolditz, Corianne (Jon) Adams, Stephanie (Cory) Newton, Matthew (Nikki) Kolditz, Kevin Kolditz; and 27 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Hermine van der Hoeven and a brother Jan van der Hoeven.
A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, at the Sugar City Stake Center with Bishop Kip Harris officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and Saturday from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. at the stake center prior to services. Interment will be in the Rexburg Cemetery under the direction of Flamm Funeral Home.
