Obituary

Craig H Morgan, 71, of Sugar City passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at EIRMC surrounded by family, of complications to do with Covid and underlying health issues.

He was born on October 25, 1949 in Rexburg, Idaho to John Charless and Gertrude Grace Bohi Morgan and was the middle child having an older brother Blair and sister Sherry and a younger brother Kerry and sister Brenda. Craig crew up in Sugar City, Idaho and graduated from Sugar-Salem High School in 1968. He was known by some as being a class clown and loved making people laugh.
After graduating High School he was set up on a blind date with Debbie Clements, she was attending Ricks College and he was attending ISU at the time. They started dating in the fall of 1971 and married on April 12, 1972. After Craig and Debbie married he was able to get a job working at a gas station in Island Park and they worked at the gas station for a few years and then Craig and Debbie both worked for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as custodians in Sugar City and Rexburg and up to Island Park. Craig worked doing his custodial duties and drove bus at the same time for the Sugar-Salem School Dist. & he retired from being a bus driver having driven for 23 years, then he retired from working as a custodian in 2011.
Craig served a 2 year LDS mission in the Gulf States mission. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints he had many callings that he loved doing and one of those callings was to fill the font for baptisms, and he loved going over and taking care of it, he then would wash and press the baptismal clothing. He was always one of the first people to stand up and volunteer and would help anyone through anything and give his shirt off his back, and also was giving financially to help with the missionary fund for years.
For many year's Craig volunteered in the Rexburg, Idaho Temple in the baptistry and this brought so much peace, joy, and happiness into his life.
Craig and Debbie wanted children of their own but unfortunately were not able to have their own kids, they were able to adopt Wendy and Kelly, and then were able to take in four foster daughters; Lavonne, Sherry, Chrystle & Teresa. Whenever as a family we took vacations people would ask dad how he was able to handle being around all these girls, and he would laugh and say he loved it. He always loved making his children laugh and would always start a water fight by tying a hair tie to the kitchen sprayer and spray the unsuspecting person that turned on the water, or you had to beware of walking through a door that was open a jar because you would have a bowl of water dumped on you. Every year, he somehow was able to save money and take his family on a vacation to Disneyland and to the California coast and many times to Yellowstone and for many years we camped going all the way up to Canada for the World's Fair, and many times as a family we would all go to Lagoon to go play, but we also camped there. Camping was a huge part of life and as a family we went every weekend.
Many will miss his jokes and many will say they were terrible. He always laughed at his own jokes even while others just shook their heads, but we always laughed with him.
He is survived by his daughters Wendy (Shane) Shipley of Sugar City, ID, Kelly (Nathan) Romine of Idaho Falls, ID and foster daughter's Lavonne (Russ) Carpenter, Sherry Lem, of Culpepper, VA, Chrystle (Jerardo) Fuentes of Middleton, ID, & Teresa (Josh) Raynor of Medical Lake, WA. His Siblings: Sherry (Skip) Feely of Granite Falls, WA, Kerry (Emily) Morgan of Salem, ID, & Brenda (Mike) Landon of Idaho Falls, ID. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Debra (Debbie) Clements Morgan, John Charless Morgan, Gertrude Grace Bohi Morgan, his brother Blair Morgan & his father-in-law Edgar Silas Clements.
