Obituary

Dale Richard Robson, 86, a lifelong resident of Felt, Idaho passed away on Wednesday, November 30 in Ashton, Idaho with his family surrounding him as he left this life.

Dale was born to Horace and Winnie Niendorf Robson on July 25, 1925 in the family home at Felt. As a child, he spent many hours with a baseball bat or fishing pole in his hands. He and his brother attended school in a two-room school house in Felt. He graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1943 and attended Idaho State University until he joined the Navy in 1945 where he served as a Seaman First Class.

On May 7, 1945, Dale married Rita Janette Kunz of Cedron. They had three children; Dale Brent, Gary Merle, and Cindy Ann.

Dale and Janette owned and farmed 2100 acres in the Felt area, where they raised potatoes and grain from 1946 until the present. He loved golfing, fishing, hunting, training race horses and riding his horses in the mountains. He spent many hours attending and supporting his children's and grandchildren's various activities.

Dale served for 24 years as a school board trustee. Ten of those years were spent as the board chairman. He also served on the National Potato Council and received the Gold Potato Award for leadership from the Council in 1992. He was the vice president of the Seed Potato Growers of Idaho. He was also a member of the Lions Club as well as a member of the Teton Valley Posse.

In 2007, Dale became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 2009, he was sealed to his family in the Rexburg Idaho Temple.

Dale is survived by his wife Janette; sons Brent (Linda) and Gary (Marlene) of Tetonia and Felt, and daughter Cindy Hansen of Rexburg; 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren and a niece and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Merle and sister Shirley.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, at the Tetonia LDS Chapel, with Bishop Brent Robson officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. both times at the church. Burial will be in the Cache-Clawson Cemetery under the direction of Flamm Funeral Home.
