Ivan Dale Shepherd, 79 of St. Anthony, died April 2, 2010 in St. Anthony. He was born March 28,1931 at Benjamin, Utah to John Ivan Shaepherd and Aileen Stark Shepherd. They lived at Benjamin and later moved to Payson, Utah. Where he grew up.He attended grande shcool in Paysona nd graduated from Payson High School. He attended Snow College and graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Animal Husbandry. On June 14, 1959 her married Carol McClellan in the Salt Lake LDS temple. Together they had four children. They later divorced. On August 24,1974 he married LaLea Miller in Idaho Falls. This marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS temple. They were married for fifteen years and a daughter before DaLea passed away in 1990. In June of 1990 her married Duana Butler in the Idaho Falls temple. They later divorced.
Ivan worked as a meat grader for the USDA for many years. He also worked as a janitor and was head custodian at the Idaho Falls High School for many years. He worked as a greeter at the Rexburg Walmart store for fourteen years after he retired from School District #91. He was an active member fo The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a full time mission to the Hawaiian Island as a young man.
He is survived by his children; Lynn (Debbie) Shepherd of Lindon, UT, John (Chizaru) Shepherd of Sandy, UT, Kent (Merideth) Shepherd of Oviedo, FL, Mariann Olsen of Idaho Falls, ID, Stephanie (Jason) Hunter of St. Anthony, ID, Taylor (Dianna) Shepherd of Branson, MO, Orilee Shepherd Hernandez of Idaho Falls, ID, Mark (Francis) Nielsen of Craig, CO, and Milo Shepherd. Also surviving ard three brothers; Charles (Carol Jean) Shepherd of Toelle, UT, Rex (Lois) Shepherd of Toelle, UT, Kenneth (Carolyn) Shepherd of Payson, UT, 28 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at the St. Anthony LDS third Ward Chaple with Bishop DelRay Davenport officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Bert Flamm Mortuary and Wednesday at the church from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the New Sweden Cemetery.
