Danny loved fishing, hunting, camping, gardening and was a builder. He loved going to Salmon, Idaho to fish for steel head. Lots of family and friends accompanied him. He was especially happy to go with his older brother and his wife Linda.
His last gardening quest was growing herbs in the greenhouse. He built an addition onto his home, He built many things for inside his home. He turned a bedroom into a big bathroom, turned the old bathroom into a bathroom with a walk-in shower, and island bar for the kitchen, pot and pan holder with shelves, greenhouse on the side of the house. He poured a cement patio by the pond and had the grandkids put their palm of their hand in the cement and write their names. He tore down a dilapidate garage and replaced it with a little workshop storage unit.
He was so creative, he loved sports. One son, Cody, said “Not only was he a great father but was also a great coach and mentor to all the kids in Madison and Fremont county. Even when working two and sometimes three jobs, he somehow made time to coach kids in football, basketball and baseball. He made it fun and helped so many appreciate being part of the team from the top athlete to the kids who just wanted to play.” He loved the Los Angeles Rams football team and went to several of their games.
He was also a jokester. He could have you laughing in no time. Even when he was so sick he would have the doctors and nurses laughing.
His son, Garen, said “I loved the way he was always willing to help others. I loved the way he would say “you betchya!” when people thanked him for the help. I loved his sense of humor even when it was dry or sarcastic. I loved his unwavering work ethic and how he refused to miss work. I loved how nothing seemed to get in his way. I loved the way he was always tinkering, building or working in the garden. I loved the way and what he taught me. I loved his passion and compassion for the things he enjoyed and the people he loved. I loved how much of a fighter he was even in the face of that terrible disease. I loved so many other things about my father but mostly I just loved my Dad. Love ya Pops, you will be sorely missed.”
He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He has given all many wonderful memories. He will be missed by many!
