Danny Joe Summers, 55, of Rexburg, July 20th 1955 - March 8th 2011.

From a very early age, it was easy to see that Danny had a great love for the outdoors. If you wanted to spend time with Danny, you needed a shovel, gun or fishing pole. Maybe on some days, you'd need all three. Danny knew the value of working hard but also found time to play hard. He spend much of his life raising potatoes, raising his family, and raising up everyone around him. He excelled in everything he ever pursued. Whether it was hunting, farming, athletics, or academics, he really was second to none. Danny never missed an opportunity to share with others his greatest accomplishments, Sam, Bert, & Ashlee were his pride and joys. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and friend. He left this world a better place than when he found it and has forever changed the lives of those who knew and loved him most. We love you, we will miss you, and may God be with you til we meet again.

He is survived by his mother, Berniece "Bonnie" Summers, his sister Jana (Mike) Phillips, his children, Sam Summers, Bert Summers and Ashlee Ricks and spouses; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Bert Summers and brothers Harvey and Billy Summers.

A memorial will be held in the honor of Danny Summers and Jodi Wyatt from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., Thursday March 17 at Danny's airplane hangar at the Rexburg Airport. The airport is on the north side of the Rexburg Municiple Gaolf course, 1/8 of a nuke east of the 333 exit then turn north at the light.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the Rexburg LDS North Stake Center (314 East 2nd North). The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Sugar City Cemetery.
