Darlene Pincock Moss-Fareti, 68, of Rexburg passed suddenly from this life and returned to her Heavenly Home Thursday, 10 April, 2014. The third of seven children, she was born 20 June 1945 in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Darrell H. and Verla Pincock Moss.
Growing up on a farm in Sugar City, she learned how to work and play. Her love was her horse, Ginger, and anything she could do outdoors.
After graduating from Sugar-Salem High School, Darlene continued her education while attending Ricks College, Utah State University, University of Idaho, receiving her PhD from Kansas State University.
Teaching was Darlene's passion: high school students in Soda Springs and Shelley, University students at U of I, North Dakota State, Utah State, Kansas State, and Ricks College. She also specialized in directing consumer science and 4-H programs in Idaho, South Dakota, and American Samoa.
Darlene met Isa'ako Sua (Ike) Fareti in American Samoa. They were married 20 March 2004 in the Laie Hawaii Temple, and she instantly became a mother and grandmother. After Ike's passing 22 August 2006, Darlene returned to the Mainland and made her home in Rexburg.
An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Darlene served in Young Women, Primary, Relief Society and Sunday School, taught Early Morning Seminary, was a stake missionary, and served as a temple ordinance worker in Chicago and Rexburg. Her most recent calling was Relief Society teacher instructing the sisters at the Rexburg Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Darlene was preceded in death by her husband and her father. Survivors include her mother, Verla, Sugar City; siblings, William D. "Bill" (Ann), Rexburg; Neil (Libby), Boise; Margaret "Peggy" Wiser, Rexburg; Jill Moss and Joy Ball, Sugar City; Anne Moss-Williams (Craig), Idaho Falls; step children Kuka (Ata) Toleafoa, Utah; Herman Fareti, Colorado; Kaylene (Faasolo) Lauano, and Talalelei Fareti, Alaska; and step grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the Rexburg Stake Center 845 W. 7th South, with Bishop Israel Palafox officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and Wednesday from 10:00 to 10:45 am at the meetinghouse prior to services. Interment will be in the Sugar City Cemetery.
