Obituary

David Alma Giles, 60, of St. Anthony ID, passed away Friday March 18, 2016.

David Al was born November 7, 1955, in Soda Springs ID to Dave Giles and Phyllis Hopkins Giles. He grew up and attended school in Salmon ID. He spent a lot of time helping family at the Salmon River Lodge.

David Al was called to serve an LDS Mission in the Florida Tallahassee mission field. Once he returned home he graduated diesel mechanic school with high honors, located in Laramie WY.

He married Barb Jean Seaman Tolman in September 1978. They had two boys, David James (Jim) and Scott Gordon. On December 31,1988 he married Eileen Bowles of Salmon ID. Combined the couple has 8 Children and 14 grandchildren.

David Al had a passion for diesel mechanics, truck driving and big equipment.

They later settled in St. Anthony ID. Where they enjoyed fishing, jeep and motorcycle rides and spending time with their family.

He was an active member of the LDS Church. He held many callings and had a strong testimony of his Savior Jesus Christ. He loved and cherished his wife who he was sealed to for time and all eternity. He was a quiet strength and a gentle spirit to family and all who knew him. He also had a great sense of humor and loved to bring a smile to everyone's face.

David Al is survived by his wife Eileen Bowles Giles of St. Anthony, ID; children, Jim (Kym) Giles of Meadow, UT; Scott (Erin) Giles of Pocatello, ID; Angelique Mullins of SLC, UT; Becky (Mike) Millar of Bountiful, UT; Heather Ornelas of Pocatello, ID; Carman (Edward) Herbst of St. Anthony, ID; Robert (Sabrina) Hughes of Wasilla, AK; Brittney (Shane) Manning of Pocatello, ID; his father, Dave Giles of Bynum, MT; a sister Brenda (Alan) Carlson of St. George, UT; brothers, Lane (Traina) Giles of Aurora, OR; Bruce (Valerie) Giles of Meadow, UT.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis and a brother, Clay.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the St. Anthony LDS Stake Center (247 E. 4th N.) with Bishop Droston Orme officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday the 23rd from 5-6:30 p.m. and Thursday from 10-11:30 a.m. both times at the church. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Bert Flamm Mortuary.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to law enforcement along with medical personnel involved. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A memorial fund has been established at Wells Fargo Bank in the name of David Alma Giles.
