Obituary

David Brent Millward, 25, of Sugar City, Idaho unexpectedly passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023.

He grew up in Sugar City and graduated high school there.

David was known for his quick wit. He caught onto things easily and when he put his mind to doing something, there was nothing in this world that could dissuade him otherwise.

He was competitive and would always find a way to come out one step ahead. Even in birth, he wiggled his little toes out past his twin brother Bryce and was brought into the world one minute ahead. From day one, they were partners in crime (theoretically and sometimes literally.)

David was stubborn, feisty, outspoken and knew how to get everyone's energy level up with his smile and laugh. His dark sense of humor could get even the most orthodox people chuckling. As a ruthless tease he is remembered farting in his sisters faces and running off laughing.

Often he would turn sour situations sweet. One example is he stole his sisters' necklace kit but turned around and made a necklace for them as a gesture of love.

David loved his family deeply. He was always nurturing and caring for the family dogs, making sure they had the utmost care and attention.

As a confident conversationalist, he would always make a point to listen to what his siblings had to say. He wouldn't leave anyone out of the conversation and made sure everyone was included.

Sometimes he was a little reckless as he wasn't afraid to try new things. He mastered skateboarding, bike tricks, hip hop dancing and also taught his family how to moonwalk. As a big brother, he tried to teach his younger siblings how to tumble and do flips on the trampoline.

David was fiercely loyal to his friends and always loved hanging out and having a good time. He was a vehement protector and best friend to his twin brother Bryce. If he saw that his brother– or any of his siblings for that matter– were hurt or sad, he was ready to jump in and fight whoever caused it. He loved his parents dearly and would do anything for them.

He studied cryptocurrency and loved his job at Maverik.

One of his favorite ways to pass the time was watching Futurama, Bob's Burgers, Family Guy and South Park. He, Bryce and Dad would fill the house with laughter while binge watching these shows.

His world fell dark when Bryce died just six months ago.

David had his struggles, but he had dreams of a future, a career, and fought hard until the end. He was an amazing young man who should be remembered for his strengths. The day he was called home, we know he was greeted with the biggest bear hug from his brother Bryce which probably eventually turned into a wrestling match. We know that heaven is ringing joyously with their infectious laughter.

He is survived by his parents Kurk and Brenda Millward of Sugar City. Brother, Andy Millward and his sisters, RosaLee Johnson, Alycia Grover, Amy Lemmon and Hannah Millward. His sister-in-law Hannah Weaver Millward and brothers-in-law Ryan Johnson, Preston Grover, and Danial Lemmon. He was deeply adored by his nieces and nephews, EmmaLee, AddiLyn, Claire, Kate and Jack Johnson and Everleigh and Max Grover. His grandparents Nylin & Diane Nelson, Judy Richards and Golden & Sandy Millward.
