Our family is saddened to announce the passing of David Zollinger Walters. He passed away Saturday, December 6 at home with his wife, Charlene at his side. David grew up in Rexburg where he graduated from Madison High School with the class of 1962. He married his high school sweetheart, Charlene Bowen in 1966 and was sealed together in 1978. David and Charlene raised six children Stacey, James, Doug, Lori, Micheal and John. David owned and operated Walters Ready Mix in Rexburg, Driggs, Sun Valley, Island Park and Valley Ready Mix in Idaho Falls.

David enjoyed Harley riding, golfing, wintering in St. George, and spending time with Charlene, his children, and grandchildren. He was known for a Lionel train collection he acquired over his lifetime. Grandchildren and visitors were eager to visit the "train room" with David. He and Charlene participated in "club" for decades, where they shared dinner and card games with other couples in the community. David will be remembered as the best trivial pursuit partner, fun rides with grandkids in the corvette, and time spent at the lake enjoying marshmallow brownies and chocolate cake. David valued charity and was very generous in his community and wished to remain anonymous and without recognition. Most importantly, he will be remembered for the patience and caring he had for his family and love and dedication to his eternal companion.

David is survived by his wife of 59 years, Charlene. His children, James (Amber), Doug (Leigh), Lori (Shane) Holden, Micheal (Stephanie), and John. Including 18 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Meriam, Patty Lue (sister), Harvey Jr. (brother), Stacey Walters (son), Tyler Walters (grandson).

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 12, 2025 at the Rexburg Stake Center, 845 W 7th S.  The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home and again from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.  Interment will follow in the Rexburg Cemetery.
