Dawnella Barney, 86 of Monteview, Idaho, passed away, Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the Gables of Ammon under the care of Eastern Idaho Hospice.

She was born March 3, 1931 at Rexburg, Idaho to William and Mollie Bratsman Weber. She graduated from Madison High School in 1949 and attended Ex-Cel-Cis Beauty College in Idaho Falls for a short time in 1953.

On October 11, 1948 she married E. Randall Barney at Rigby, Idaho. They lived in Rexburg until 1953 when they moved to Wallace, Idaho. While living in Wallace Dawnella, worked as a cook at he Catholic Hospital. In 1960 they moved to the Mud Lake area where they farmed, ranched, trucked and had a dairy.

Dawnella was a member of the Community Church of Mud Lake and also attended the monthly Cowboy Church services at the Mud Lake Senior Center.

Dawnella enjoyed cooking, reading, keeping the books for the farm, socializing at the local coffee shop and at the Mud Lake Senior Center and taking care of others.

She is survived by her daughters Mrs. Lewis Lynette Dowdy of Terreton, Idaho, Dawnetta Barney of Pocatello, Idaho, an adopted daughter (her granddaughter) Maycee Barney, as wells as 7 other grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a number of step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded is death by her parents, sister, husband and sons, Brent and Galen.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 10th at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home prior to services. Interment will be in the West Jefferson Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Mud Lake Senior Center. The family would like to thank the staff at the Gables of Ammon and Eastern Idaho Hospice for their good care.
