Obituary

Dean was a kind, friendly and generous friend, father and grandfather. He passed after complications with pneumonia at the Homestead in Rexburg on May 13, 2017. Dean was well taken care of at the Homestead where he lived as he struggled with Alzheimer's. Dean was born June 8, 1934, in Twin Falls, Idaho and grew up in Buhl Idaho helping his dad farm.

He enjoyed life outdoors especially fishing, hunting, and golfing. He was the first in his family to attend college at the University of Idaho and was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity. He served in the USAF, was on Active Duty in South Korea '57-60 as part of the 3rd Bombardment Wing (Tactical), APO 994.

He married Patricia Munsee and had a daughter, Susan. Dean spent his professional career with Ore-Ida potato processing as the production manager in Ontario OR. He moved to Rexburg to work for a few years before retiring. Dean spent the last fifteen years enjoying morning coffee with Dale Jeppesen and friends, playing golf with Brett, Duffy, and the guys at the Teton Lakes golf course, taking rides across Idaho in his pickup truck (thanks to his good friends at Erickson GMC) to see his high school friend, Bonnie.

Dean is survived by his daughter Susan Bent DeMichele and her family, husband Jim, grandsons Jake age 9, Tyler age 7.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 2, at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg. The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home prior to services.
