Obituary

Deanna Orr Kerbs, age 82, passed away in the early morning on Friday, December 31, 2021 at her home in Wilford, Idaho. By her side was her devoted husband, who was her full time caregiver for several years as her health declined.

Deanna was born on March 5, 1939, in Egin, Idaho to William Ernest and Luella Palmer Orr. She was the fourth child of 11 children.

As a child, her parents taught her to work. She begged her dad to teach her how to milk cows. She later said that was a big mistake as the job became hers and her brother Darrell's.

She went to school in Egin for three years. She had to walk two miles to school. She started the 4th grade in Parker. She was a cheerleader in high school, played the drums, and was a majorette (baton twirler for the band). She was the FFA Queen, she won the girls' top athlete award, and was also the ping pong and checker champ in high school. She enjoyed being on a dance team and even danced the Charleston on a TV program.

Deanna and Larry Kerbs started dating after a Christmas dance. Three weeks later, they got engaged on Jan. 27, 1959. They were married for time and all eternity on April 10, 1959, in the Idaho Falls Temple.

Deanna and Larry started a dairy farm. She worked side by side with Larry milking cows and doing whatever farm job needed to be done. She could run any piece of farm machinery as well as anyone. Her favorite farm job was taking care of the calves. She loved the peace and relaxation that working in her flower beds brought. She always kept a well-manicured yard and garden.

She was a fiercely loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She treasured her grandchildren and was so proud of all their accomplishments. Her strength and love will be remembered by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband Larry, her children, Brant (Tammy) Kerbs, Becky Kerbs, Brooke (Jon) Bailey, Bruce (Cristalle) Kerbs, 13 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Verleen Triplett, Scott Orr, and Bradley Orr.

She is preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Luella Orr, 5 sisters (Myrna Larson, Carole Young, Renee Richards, Brenda Sutton, and Jana Poulsen) and 2 brothers (Darrell Orr and a stillborn boy), and her parents-in-law, George and Bertha Kerbs.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 7, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Wilford Church, 215 N. 2400 E.
