John "Delbert" Lusk,  great husband, father, great grandfather, brother, and friend passed peacefully November 8, 2023 at the comfort of his home with his loving wife Nancy by his side.

He was born to Rupert and Barbara Lusk on March 2, 1943 in Rexburg, Idaho. Delbert was the third of four children. He grew up in Sugar city and graduated class of 1961. During his time in school, he was a member of the basketball, football and baseball teams, and participated in the FFA Club.

Delbert married Tonia Kay Lusk. To this marriage came four boys. Travis, Stacy, Tyler, and Tracy. They later divorced.

On July 18, 1997 he married the love of his life, Nancy Lou Hoyt. They enjoy traveling, camping, hunting and share 26 fulfilling years together.

Delbert was an avid archery hunter and an original member of the Upper Snake River Bowman, and the Idaho State Bowhunters. He loved to camp, snowmobile, and spend time with friends and family. He was quite the jokester, and had a great sense of humor! Christmas Eve at Grandpa Delbert's house was a special tradition and one of our favorite memories.

Delbert was preceded in death by his parents, Rupert and Barbara Lusk, sister Barbara Ann, sons Stacy and Tracy Lusk, brother Richard Lusk, sister Lana Lundberg.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Lusk, sons, Travis Lusk (Peggy Beemer) of Rigby ID, Tyler Lusk, of Salt Lake City, Utah, step sons Chad (Jody) Henderson Albuquerque NM, Shane (Laurel) Henderson of North Port FL, grandson Tyson Lusk, granddaughters, Tifanie Maupin, Samara Lusk, and Kayloni Beemer and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Delbert will be held at 11 AM Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg. Viewing for family and friends will take place from 10 AM to 11 AM Saturday at the funeral home prior to services.  Graveside service will follow at Sugar City Cemetery.
