Obituary

DeLoss "Dee" Levere Hoskins, 77 of Idaho Falls, died Sunday, January 16, 2011 at his home. He was born July 1, 1933 at Portage, Utah to Conley and Thelma Robinson Hoskins. The family moved to the Firth/Basalt area in Idaho when he was four years old. He graduated from Firth High School in 1951.

He married Shirley Mangum and they later divorced. On August 25,1979 he married Karen Woodmansee Kirkham. He worked as a computer system analyst for EG &G for 32 years.

Dee was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many church positions and he was a high priest. He loved to square dance, water ski, snow ski and he loved family history and temple work and enjoyed old cars and traveling to church history sites. A highlight was a trip to Jerusalem in 2009.

Dee is survived by his wife Karen Hoskins of Idaho Falls, his children; Terrell (Barbara) Hoskins of Shelley, Kim (Kelly) Hoskins of Shelley, Brad (Tammy) Hoskins of Tremonton, Utah, step-children; Kathleen Kirkham of Idaho Falls, Roger Kirkham of Idaho Falls, Dianna (Chris) Maverakis of Saratoga Springs, Utah, Natalie (Phillip) Herrera of Idaho Falls, a sister Ilene Hall of Idaho Falls and 15 grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, a granddaughter and two brothers-in-law; Fred Hall and Robert Woodmansee..

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at the Ammon 27th LDS Ward Chapel (7118 East Ledge Rock Road) with Bishop Jake Dustin officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church and Wednesday, prior to services, from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Rexburg Cemetery.
