Obituary

Diana Gail McCord Larsen, 70, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2018, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, surrounded by her family.

Diana was born on March 12, 1948, daughter of Carl Edwin and Mildred Mary Jensen McCord in Rexburg, Idaho. She spent her early years in Ashton, Idaho working on the family farm. At the age of 10, her family moved to Shelton, Idaho. Working on her dad's farm, Diana developed a great work ethic that she carried with her throughout her life. At 17, her family moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho, where she graduated from Bonneville High School in 1966.

She met her future husband and life-long companion, Dale Louis Larsen, in 1967. They were married and sealed for all time and eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple on August 17, 1968. This year they were looking forward to celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. As a newly married couple they lived Logan, Utah while Dale finished his engineering degree. They then settled in the Rexburg area where they resided the remainder of her life. As a wife and mother, she was an example of selfless devotion to family, friends, and all those around her.

Diana served in numerous callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but her most satisfying calling was her 10 years of service in the Rexburg 12th ward nursery. She treated each of the children as her own and maintained a special bond with them throughout her life.

Diana was a naturally talented seamstress and enjoyed sharing her gift with others, including preparing pajamas for newborn babies, and sewing beautiful, meticulous quilts. Likewise, Diana was a talented cake decorator and took great joy in making uniquely themed birthday cakes her children and grandchildren. She adored her grandchildren and family and would do anything for them.

She is survived by her husband, Dale Louise Larsen; her children: Nancy Larsen of Bountiful, Utah; Keith (Janae) Larsen of Rexburg, Idaho; Janalyn Larsen of Idaho Falls, Shane (Ivy) Larsen of Placerville, California; Kayla (Hyrum) Johnson of Shelley, Idaho, and; fifteen grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Roger (Carolyn) McCord of Idaho Falls, Idaho; sister Janeane (David) Driggs of Driggs, Idaho, and; sister Marva McCord of Idaho Falls, Idaho.

She is preceded in death by her parents Carl Edwin and Mildred Mary McCord.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July, 7, 2018 at the Park Street LDS Chapel, 700 Park Street, in Rexburg, Idaho, with Bishop Les Manner of the West Main Ward officiating. A viewing for friends and family will be held from 5:30 to 7:00 pm on Friday, July 6, 2018, and Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m., both times at the Park Street LDS Chapel. Burial will be in the Little Annis Butte Cemetery in Jefferson County, Idaho under the direction of Flamm Funeral Home.

Diana will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her passing was sudden and unexpected, but her family will treasure every moment they had with her and have faith they will be reunited one day.
