Dick Lowrey Jackson passed away on July 20, 2017 at the Homestead Assisted Living Center in Rexburg, Idaho. Dick was born on the family ranch in Randolph, Utah on May 13, 1918, the middle of three children born to Frank Jackson and Pearl Lowrey. Dick learned to work hard on the ranch and developed a sense of self confidence that he carried with him throughout his life. He excelled in school, particularly in athletics, eventually joining the track team as high jumper at the Utah Agricultural College in Logan, Utah.

Dick served in the Eastern States Mission for the LDS church from 1939-1940. During WWII, Dick went to work in airplane manufacturing in Los Angeles, California. Just a few houses down from his boarding house in Los Angeles, Anna Belle Wallace lived with her mother. Dick and Anna Belle met, fell in love, and were married in Denver, Colorado while Dick was serving the Army Air Force. Dick was soon called to serve in the Pacific Theater with a B-29 bomber squad stationed in Saipan. After finishing his military service, Dick and Anna Belle completed their schooling in Logan, and Dick later earned a Master's degree in Statistics at the University of Minnesota.

Dick's career was primarily with state and federal governments in Utah, California, and the Washington, DC area. Dick worked for the Dept. of Navy in statistical analysis for most of his career. Dick and Anna Belle spent over fifty years living and raising their family in McLean, Virginia.

After retirement, Dick served as coordinator of proxies and sealer in the Washington, DC LDS temple for over 30 years. Dick always felt that he could to anything if he set his mind to it and worked hard. He became an accomplished golfer, woodworker, and particularly enjoyed investment in real estate throughout his life. Dick and Anna Belle moved their home to Rexburg in 2008.

Dick is preceded in passing by his wife, Anna Belle, his parents, older sister, Helen, and oldest son, Wayne. He is survived by his children, Connie (Carl) Clark, Kent (Jeanene) Jackson, John (Kolene) Jackson, Steven (Karen) Jackson, and younger brother Ross.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26, at the Rexburg LDS East Stake Center, 387 South 4th East. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and Wednesday from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. at the stake center prior to services. Interment will be in the Randolph Utah Cemetery at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
