Don Lorenzo Siepert, 75, of Rexburg, formerly of Kilgore, unexpectedly passed away on February 15, 2016, at his home of natural causes. He was born May 31, 1940, in Independence, Idaho to Earl and Afton Siepert. He was raised in Kilgore and then attended and graduated high school in Sugar City in 1958.
After graduation, he went to work for Hillmans, in Kilgore, full time building and repairing fences. He bought a brand new car, a 1960 Ford Starliner. It was his favorite car. This is the car he met his wife in. He married that cute girl, Neta Eurella Ball, on February 2, 1962, in Rexburg.
Stopping into Blair's Gas one day, Blair offered Don a job changing oil in cars and trucks and repairing tires. When he wasn't doing that he was pumping gas and diesel. Don and his brother eventually purchased the station and made many lifelong friends during the time that they owned the business.
Later, Don started a new adventure working with Peterbilt of Boise, spending many years making yet more friends before starting the transition to the Jackson Group Peterbilt in Idaho Falls where he continued to work until the time of his death.
As a father and grandfather, he lovingly taught us by his example of hard work. He was thrifty and dedicated to his family and God. He was a well loved and respected man.
He is survived by his wife, Neta living at Homestead in Rexburg; children, Tena (Lane) McPheeters of Ogden, Utah, Kim (Paul) Jensen of Rexburg, Nicki Stephens of Idaho Falls, Shawn (Ceeli) Siepert of Rexburg; siblings, Gwen Robertson of Parker, Jean Petersen of Rexburg, Fern (Virgil) Jones, Sharon Huskinson, Larry (Fay) Siepert all of Idaho Falls; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son-in-law Pat Stephens, a granddaughter Justine Roman, and brothers-in-law Neiland Robertson, Mac Huskinson and K Petersen.
Grandpa, We Love You. "Bless your heart."
