Doralee Anderson Thomason, 97, of Burton, died Monday, November 29, 2010 at her home surrounded by members of her loving family.
She was born June 1, 1913, in Independence, Idaho to Wilford Christian and Mary Pearl Bowen Anderson. She attended school in Independence and graduated from Madison High School. She also attended Ricks College.
She married Charles Thomason on November 20, 1933 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They lived for a time in Independence and then made their permanent home in Burton. Charles died on August 17, 1992.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as the Relief Society President and in many other callings. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
She worked at the Ricks College from 1960 until 1975, first at the cafeteria, and then as the secretary for Food Services. After retiring, she worked at Barrett's Dress Shop and at Bowen Music.
She enjoyed quilting, cooking, making pies and sharing them with family, neighbors and friends.
She is survived by her children, Warren (Bonnie) Thomason, Lolita (Bruce) Shirley, Byron (Marilyn) Thomason, Nicholas (Sandra) Thomason, Greg (Diana) Thomason all of Rexburg, Lynnea Holley of South Jordan, Utah, Ann Marrie (Tim) Neville of Logan, Utah; daughters-in-law, Glenda (Jack) Rowe of Rexburg and Sonja Thomason of Rexburg; a sister-in-law Betty Anderson of Idaho Falls; 37 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, sons Charles Anthony "Tony" Thomason and Roger Thomason, two sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at the Burton LDS Chapel with Bishop Robert Hodgen officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.
