IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dorothy June
Chambers Ivie
June 5, 1933 – August 13, 2021
Dorothy June Chambers was born to Jim Chambers and Zella (Flamm) Chambers on June 5, 1933. Dorothy was the second of three children. She spent much of her life in the Rexburg area and graduated from Madison High School in 1952.
In the fall of 1953, Dorothy married Arthur Ivie. They had three children: Barbara Ann Chambers (now Jensen), born in 1954; Peter James Ivie, born in 1955; and Sarah Renee Ivie, born in 1959. Dorothy and Arthur divorced shortly after the birth of their youngest child. When Sarah was old enough to attend school, Dorothy began work sorting potatoes at Wilcox Potato. She worked at Wilcox for ten years before meeting her second husband Sam Butler. Dorothy and Sam divorced in 1976 shortly after the birth of their son, Corey Adam Butler.
Dorothy remained at home until Corey was four years old, at which time she again took employment sorting potatoes. This time, Dorothy took a job at Quality Pack where she worked for forty years. During the course of her employment there, Dorothy saw the company transition from Quality Pack to ownership by High Country. Dorothy loved and was loved by all those she worked with and her coworkers became like a second family to her. It was only when her health began to fail at the age of 84 that Dorothy retired. Throughout her life, Dorothy was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved participating in choir.
Dorothy went to be with her Heavenly Father on August 13, 2021. She was preceded in death by her father, Jim; her mother, Zella; and her brother Clarence. Dorothy is survived by her sister, Betty Flud (Chambers); her children Barbara, Peter, Sarah, and Corey; her nieces and nephews; and her grandchildren. Dorothy was a kind and hardworking soul whose memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
