Douglas Reed Squires, age 72, passed away peacefully on April 5th, 2026.
Douglas was born Feb. 27th, 1954 to Reed & Cora' Jean Squires and was the middle child out of his siblings.
He was a devoted father whose greatest joy and purpose in life was his three daughters, Ashley, Shellie, and Shanna. He dedicated his life to loving, supporting, and guiding his girls, always putting family first. To them, he was not just a father, but their protector, their strength, and their everything.
Doug cherished his grandchildren above all else and was overjoyed to recently welcome his first great-grandchild. He took pride in showing off all the sticky notes that the grandchildren stuck in all places of his home that contained notes of admiration.
He loved being out on his property by the river, hanging out in his shop, and getting out in nature for the occasional four wheeler ride.
He is survived by his three children, Ashley (Wes) Moore, Shellie (Alan) Nickell and Shanna (Tony) Plank; 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He is proceeded in death by his parents.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at Flamm Funeral Home from 5:30 - 7:00pm and on Thursday, April 9, 2026 from 9:30 - 10:30 am. Graveside will be held at 11:00 am at the Plano Cemetery.
The family is creating a memory book to honor Douglas’s life. They invite those who knew and loved him to share stories, memories, or messages to be included.
