Douglas Lee Anderson, 82 of Salem, died June 7, 2010. He was born October 29, 1927 at Salem to Lee Earl Anderson and Afton McCulloch Anderson. He was raised in Salem and attended Sugar-Salem schools, graduating from Sugar-Salem High School in 1945. After high school he served in the Army, in Japan, during World War II. After the war he drove truck for Waddell Distributing Company and he delivered machinery for Farmers' Equipment and also worked for Meyers Brothers.
Survivors include his sisters; Earlene Parkinson of Rexburg, Glenda (Kent) Robertson of Salem, Delia (Gary) Wood of Omak, Washington, Sisters-in-law, Anna Jane Anderson of Egin and Patricia Anderson of Rexburg, a brother-in-law, Craig Bennion of Redlands, California, fourteen nephews and ten nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Cleon M. "Andy" Anderson and Larry K. Anderson, a sister; LaRee Bennion and a brother-in-law, Detsel Parkinson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 11, 2010 at the Salem Church with Bishop Kendall Grant officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday at the Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. and Friday, at the church, from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Rexburg Cemetery with military rites by the Madison County Veterans Team. Condolences may be sent to the family on line at www.flammfh.com
