Edith Machen Ward, died August 5, 2018, at Teton Acute Care in Idaho Falls of natural causes. She was born May 6, 1937, to Glen Machen and Florence Belnap Machen, in Idaho Falls, Idaho as their first child.

In her childhood the family moved around, living in Idaho Falls, Rexburg, Blackfoot and western Oregon. Finally settling in Burton. She finished school, graduating from Madison High School in 1956.

She then met and married Bruce B. Ward on May 31, 1957, which started a love and friendship that has lasted 61 years.

She has been involved in doing genealogy, and in doing politics. She was a Republican District and Regional Chairman for Idaho Falls and surrounding areas.

And she really loved her family, her husband Bruce B. Ward of 61 years, and her 5 children, 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Bruce Ward, her sisters Irene Hansen, Genny Aeschbacher, her children, Florence Ilene Ward, Mark W. Ward, Annette Noelcke, Scot B. Ward, Glen J. Ward, 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 9, at the Saint Leon LDS Chapel, 6925 N. 15th E. (Saint Leon Rd.) in Idaho Falls, Idaho. The family will receive friends Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will at the Burton Cemetery in Rexburg under the direction of Flamm Funeral Home.
