She wrote poems, books, and did family genealogy. She loved to travel and explore and visited many places, such as Hawaii, Mexico, and Alaska. She loved to ride her bike, walk, cross-country ski, and snowshoe. She loved being out in nature and used her time outdoors to study its beauty for her paintings.
