Obituary

Elaine Lottie Robertson Miller Saurey, 79, of Hibbard died Tuesday, August 19 at EIRMC of natural causes surrounded by her family.

She was born March 12, 1935 in Plano, ID to Charles Ernest Robertson and Margaret McCulloch Robertson. She attended schools in Edmunds and Sugar City.

She married Gerald D. Miller on October 25, 1952. They had 2 children, Jerry and Terri. She was widowed on September 16, 1954. She married Reed Saurey, who had 3 children Carolyn, Deby, and Jean, on July 23, 1959 and they combined their families. Together they added 3 more children Rita, Nona, and Rob. Reed passed away on April 18, 1986.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held several callings throughout her life. She became close friends with those she served with.

Elaine made friends easily and had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed playing the piano, sewing, puzzles, mystery novels, flowers and baking. She loved working on the farm with Reed. Elaine was very close to her sister Ruby and loved their daily phone visits. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her children, Carolyn Brizzee, Deby (Scott-deceased) Leishman, Jerry (Rozan) Miller, Terri (Kevon) Farrer, Jean (Steve-deceased) Lee, Rita (Bruce) Rose, Nona (Roger) McKenna, Rob (Lori) Saurey, a sister Ruby (Elroy) Rigby, 27 grandchildren and 59 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister LaWanna, husbands Gerald and Reed, 2 son-in-laws Steve Lee and Scott Leishman and 2 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 23, at the Henry's Fork LDS Stake Center, 1508 West 3000 North, in Rexburg. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home and Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the stake center prior to services. Interment will be in the Plano Cemetery.
