Joy Huskinson

Elizabeth Joy Huskinson, 80 of Rexburg, died Monday, September 7,2009 at the Homestead Living Center in Rexburg. She was born January 7,1929 at Burns, Kansas, to Dannie E. Mundy and Lorretta Johnson Mundy. The family lived in Kansas, Worland, Wyoming, and Nyssa, Oregon where Joy graduated from high school. She worked as a librarian at the community library in Nyssa and then at the library at Treasure Valley Community College in Ontario, Oregon. In 1965 she moved to Pocatello, Idaho where she was a librarian at Idaho State University. At a church dance she met William Brent Huskinson and they were married on June 1, 1968 in the Idaho Falls LDS temple. He died December 11, 1999.

Joy's goal in life was to be a school teacher. In 1979, at the age of 50, she attended Brigham Young University and then taught school in Heyburn, Idaho for eight years. In 1995 she and Brent moved to Rexburg to be near family.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many church callings. She loved to sew, crochet, knit and tie quilts.

She is survived by her children; Elva Alvina Grover of Blackfoot, Idaho, Dannie Carter Bell of Riggins, Idaho and Arden Wayne Bell of St. Anthony, Idaho, 17 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren, two sisters; Helen Foss of Fruitland, Idaho and Donna Caputo of Sublimity, Oregon. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Brent and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at the Stonebridge LDS Chapel (475 East 7th North) with Bishop Kirk Widdison officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and Thursday at the church from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery.
