Obituary

Kathryn Elizabeth Kingsbury Walker, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home in hospice care in Rexburg, Idaho, on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at the age of 88. She was surrounded by love as she made her final journey.

Elizabeth was born on October 18, 1936, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to her parents Ronald Lovesy Kingsbury and Ilene Hanks, who instilled in her a love of learning and a deep commitment to faith. She graduated from East High School in Salt Lake City before pursuing her passion for education at Brigham Young University, where she earned a degree in Sociology. Later in life, she furthered her studies with a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.

Later in life Elizabeth married John Davies Walker from Rexburg, Idaho, and together they made their home in Hibbard where John had raised his family. Elizabeth was a devoted mother to seven children, and her love for them was unconditional and boundless. She was a nurturing, supportive, and patient presence in their lives.

Throughout her life, Elizabeth pursued a variety of creative and intellectual interests. She was passionate about dancing and oil painting, talents she shared with her community by teaching art classes. Her paintings, which captured the beauty of the world around her, are a testament to her creativity and vibrant spirit.

A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Elizabeth found joy in serving others. She was dedicated to attending and working in the Rexburg Temple, where she felt close to her faith and her Savior.

Elizabeth's warmth, kindness, and generosity will be remembered by all who knew her. She touched the lives of countless individuals through her work, her creative pursuits, and her service to others.

She is survived by her seven children, Steve Clarke (Maria), Camille Crnkovich, Catherine (John Pigott), Christine (Rene Olivas), Ron Clarke, Sam Clarke (Rebecca), Liz Clarke, her sister Kathleen Kingsbury Alley (John), numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family, all of whom will carry her memory with love and gratitude.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings Ronald, Frances, John, and Louise.

A funeral service will be held in her honor on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hibbard LDS Chapel. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Holladay Memorial Cemetery in Utah.

She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
