Emilia Benilde Aranda Hammond passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the age of 43. Emily was born in San Antonio Texas on May 13, 1975 to Maria Guadalupe Jensen and Ricardo Jaso Aranda. At the age of 15, she moved with her family to Caldwell, Idaho, and she later graduated from Caldwell High School. She attended Brigham Young University and Idaho State University where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene.
On May 28, 1994, Emily married Darin LeRoy Hammond in the Boise LDS Temple. She cherished her relationship with Darin. After 5 years of marriage, Darin and Emily welcomed their first daughter, Symphony Karen Hammond. Over the next 7 years, they were blessed with 3 more beautiful children; Gavin Milton Hammond, Halle Sonata Hammond, and Eva Aria Hammond. Her children were the pride and joy of her life. She loved spending time with them and was playful, always having so much fun with them. In addition to her love for children, her nieces and nephews were the light of her life. She was thoughtful and was constantly doing things to make those around her feel special and loved.
Emily worked as a dental hygienist and held various jobs over the years. She loved her patients and was very attentive to them. She loved her coworkers and made many life-long friendships. She loved dancing and spending time with friends and family. Emily touched countless lives and was a light to all she came in contact with.
Emily is survived by her four beautiful children, Symphony, Gavin, Halle, and Eva Hammond. Her mother Maria Jensen and 4 siblings: Sara Aranda of Nampa, Idaho, Ricardo (Stephanie) Aranda of Pleasant Grove, Utah, Kathy( Dylan) Whiting of Nampa, Idaho, and Joseph (Jocelyn) Aranda of Orem, Utah and many nieces and nephews.
Emily is preceded in death by her husband Darin Hammond, her father Ricardo Aranda, her mother in law Karen Hammond, and her grandparents.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 10th at the Harvest Hill LDS Chapel located at 612 S. Hidden Valley Rd. in Rexburg. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and again from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Rexburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Hammond Children Education Fund at Westmark Credit Union.
