Emily McGarry

Emily Miller McGarry, 49, passed away November 3, 2026 in Rexburg, Idaho at the Temple View Transitional Care Center. Emily was born in Provo, Utah on August 4, 1977.

After the family moved back to Idaho in 1982, Emily attended schools in Pocatello, eventually graduating from Highland High School. She also briefly attended Ricks College and Idaho State University.

Emily married David McGarry in 1997, divorcing almost 12 years later. They had three daughters, Brooke, Hailey and Kortnie.

Emily had a beautiful singing voice which landed her in Highland’s Trouveres choir, and she also appeared in other musical performances. She enjoyed playing and composing music on the keyboard. She also developed her artistic abilities under tutelage from Cynthia Ellis, and from the time she was little, Emily loved to fish with her father, and loved fishing all the way to her final breath. Emily had a heart of gold, willing to help others out, even to her own detriment.

Emily is survived by her daughters, Brooke Mucha (Ryan) New York City, NY; Hailey, St. Anthony, ID; Kortnie Hamann (Tristan) American Falls, ID; and two grandchildren, Sofia and Jeremiah, her parents, Jerry and Rozan Miller of Sugar City, ID; brothers, Anthony (Kimberly) of Las Vegas, NV; Jonathan (Laura) Temple, TX; Michael (Vanessa) San Antonio, TX; James (Candace) San Antonio, TX; and sister Kristine (Darik Anderson) Rexburg, ID. Preceded in death by her younger sister Elizabeth.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 8 at 4:00 pm (MST) at the Flamm Funeral Home at 61 N 1st E, in Rexburg. A viewing will be held from 3:00 to 3:45. Interment will be at 10:00 Monday morning at the Plano Cemetery.

The family is so very appreciative of those who cared for Emily at Spectrum Residential Habilitation in Pocatello, at the Temple View Transitional Care Center in Rexburg, and from Heritage Home Health and Hospice.
