Enrique Garcia Robledo, age 64 passed away at his home in Sugar City due to an accident on Saturday, October 14, 2023.

Enrique was born on May 3, 1959, in Palos Altos, Tlatenango de Sanchez Roman, Zacatecas, Mexico to Nicolas and Nicolasa Garcia (Robeldo).

He grew up in Palos Altosand Los Aguajes, where he attended school in the morning and after school, he would helphis parents farm corn and care for the family's livestock (mainly cows). At a young age Enrique would travel to Nayarit, Mexico during the tobacco harvest to work. His boss at the tobacco farm was impressed by Enrique's work ethic.

In 1973 at the age of 14 he moved to Los Angeles, California where he was enrolled in high school; however, he did not like to attend school and desired to work instead. In 1979 he decided to move to the City of Teton, Idaho with his older sister and brother. He quickly found employment on the potato farms. Some of the farms he worked on were Walters, Schwendiman, Nedrow and Crapo.

Enrique decided to visit his childhood home in Los Aguajes, Mexico during that visit he met his wife Delia, they were married on October 24th, 1983,and in July of 1984they welcomed their first son Andres. Enrique desired to provide a better life for his family, so he made the sacrifice of leaving his wife and son in Mexico to move back to Idaho to work until he had sufficient money and a place to live for his family. Once the family was reunited, they lived in Rexburg for a short time before moving to Sugar City, Idaho. Once in Sugar City, they welcomed two more sons (Aldo and Enrique) and then added their only daughter Monica and in 1999 their youngest son Eulises. All of his children attended the Sugar-Salem School District and graduated from Sugar-Salem High School.

Enrique continued to work to provide for his family, he worked at many potato warehouses including, Nedrow's Moody Creek, Walter's Produce, Sun- Glo of Idaho, High Country Potato, and Dickinson Frozen Foods. He worked for Woody Smith Ford in their detail shop (this was his favorite occupation).

Enrique had a deep love for family and enjoyed his flower garden. He opened his home to family members struggling financially until they were able to find employment. He cared for his widowed mother for many years. He came from a large family of three brothers and six sisters, all of whom he had a close relationship with. He taught his children to work hard and to have a deep love for family as well. Nieces and Nephews remember visiting his home and putting on boxing gloves to box their cousins. They all had fun watching his sister's box too. When there was a boxing match on pay-per-view he would host the televised match in his home. That is where the whole family became Julio-Cesar Chavez and Oscar de la Hoyafans (just to name a few of the greatest boxers ever). He loved to play basketball with his sons and nephews at the neighborhood park. Enrique loved to watch all sports and knew all of the stats of the key players. He was always sporting a Los Angeles Lakers Jersey.

Enrique was a major supporter of family events, you could count on him to attend weddings, quinceaneras and family cookouts (where there was always a game of poker being played at the family cookouts). He loved being a grandfather to his 8 grandchildren and was excited to add a new grand-daughter due in January. His grandchildren would come visit him and stay over for the weekend. He had many friends because of his good time nature but was also capable of a stern look when needed. However, he will be deeply missed by family and friends because of his tender heart.

He is survived by his wife Delia: 5 children, Andres, Aldo, Enrique (Teresa), Monica (Juan), and Eulises, 8 grandchildren and another one on the way, 2 brothers Julian (Mexico), Alfredo (Tennessee), 5 sisters Maria del Refugio, Marcelina of Sugar City, Eva (Ignacio) Serrano of Idaho Falls, Elvia of Tetonia and Olga of Driggs.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother.

Funeral services will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church 45 S 3rd W Rexburg, ID on Saturday, October 21st,2023, at 9 am. A viewing will be held at Flamm Funeral Home 61 N. 1st E. Rexburg, ID on Friday, October 20th from 6 pm to 8 pm.

Enrique García Robledo, de 64 años, falleció en su casa en Sugar City el 14 de octubre, 2023 a consecuencia de un accidente. Nació el 3 de mayo, 1959 en Palos Altos, Tlatenango de Sánchez Román, estado de Zacatecas, México. Sus padres eran Nicolás y Nicolasa García (Robledo).

Creció en los ranchos Palos Altos y Los Aguajes, donde asistía a la escuela por la mañana y después de las clases, les ayudaba a sus padres a cultivar maíz y cuidar el ganado y otros animales de la familia. Desde muy joven, viajaba a Nayarit, México durante la cosecha de tobaco para trabajar allí. A su jefe, Enrique le impresionó por ser tan trabajador.

A los 14 años, se mudó a Los Angeles, California donde comenzó la escuela secundaria. Puesto que no le gustaba mucho asistir a la escuela, decidió mejor trabajar. En 1979, decidió mudarse con su hermana y hermano a Teton, Idaho. Rapidamente encontró trabajo en las granjas donde se cultivaban papas. Algunas granjas donde trabajó eran de los Walters, los Scwendiman, los Nedrow y los Crapo.

En un momento, Enrique decidió hacer una visita al pueblo de su niñez, donde conoció a su futura esposa Delia. Se casaron el 24 de octubre, 1983 y en julio del siguiente año nació su primer hijo Andrés. Con tantos deseos de proveer lo necesario para su familia, Enrique hizo el sacrificio de volver a Idaho, dejando a su esposa y a su hijo en México, y en Idaho ahorró lo suficiente para asegurar un lugar donde vivir para ellos.  Una vez reunida la familia, vivieron en Rexburg al principio, y después se mudaron a Sugar City, Idaho. A Enrique y Delia les nacieron dos hijos más, Aldo y Enrique, y después nació su única hija Monica. En 1999, nació su hijo menor Eulises. Todos sus hijos asistieron a las escuelas del distrito Sugar-Salem, y se graduaron de la escuela secundaria de Sugar-Salem.

Enrique continuó trabajando para proveer para su familia. Trabajó en varios lugares como Nedrow's Moody Creek, Walter's Produce, Sun-Glo de Idaho, High Country Potato, y Dickinson Frozen Foods. Su trabajo preferido fue como detallista en Woody Smith Ford.

A Enrique le gustaba trabajar en su jardín de flores. Siempre abrió las puertas de su casa a otros familiares que sufrían económicamente y les permitió quedarse hasta que encontraron trabajo. Cuidó de su viuda madre por varios años. Siempre tuvo una relación muy buena con todos sus hermanos- 3 hermanos y 6 hermanas. Les enseñó a sus hijos a trabajar mucho, y a apreciar la familia profundamente. Sus sobrinas y sobrinos recuerdan visitas a su casa que incluían sesiones de boxeo con sus primos. Cuando había una pelea de boxeo televisado, Enrique invitaba a otros mirar la pelea con él. Todos se convirtieron en fans de Julio-César Chávez y Oscar de la Hoya (entre otros grandes boxeadores). A Enrique le encantaba jugar el basketball con sus hijos y sobrinos en la cancha de su casa. Miraba cada tipo de deportes y sabia de memoria las estadísticas de los jugadores principales. Siempre se ponía una camiseta de los Los Angeles Lakers.

Enrique firmemente apoyaba cada encuentro familiar y se podia contar con él para asistir a cada boda, cada quiceañera, y cada almuerzo o cena familiar (donde siempre había un juego de póker). Le encantaba a Enrique ser abuelo a sus 8 nietos y estaba muy entusiasmado por la llegada de una nueva nieta en enero 2024. Sus nietos lo visitaban mucho y pasaban los fines de semana con él. Enrique, siempre tuvo muchos amigos por tener una naturaleza de diversion tan agradable,. A pesar de ser naturalmente bondadoso, era capaz de echarte una mirada fuerte cuando era necesario. A toda su familia y amigos les echará de menos el humilde corazón de Enrique.

Le sobreviven su esposa Delia, sus 5 hijos: Andrés, Aldo, Enrique (Teresa), Monica (Juan) y Eulises. También, sus 8 nietos y la que viene, 2 hermanos: Julián (México) y Alfredo (Tennessee), 5 hermanas: María del Refugio, Marcelina (Sugar City), Eva (Ignacio- Idaho Falls), Elvia (Tetonia) y Olga (Driggs),

En la muerte, le precedió su querida madre.

Un velorio y rosario será en Flamm Funeral Home (61 N. 1st E. en Rexburg, Idaho) el 20 de octubre (viernes) desde las 6 de la noche hasta las 8. El servicio funeral será en la iglesia católica de San Patricio (45 S. 3rd W en Rexburg, Idaho) el 21 de octubre (sábado), 2023 a las 9 de la mañana.
