Obituary

Evan LaVern Meyers passed away on April 11, 2016. He was born on March 7, 1945 in Rexburg Idaho to Wayne Hamilton and Anna Martin Meyers.

He was adored by his parents and had an idyllic childhood growing up in Sugar City surrounded by great friends and cousins. He graduated from Sugar-Salem High School #GODIGGERS in 1963 and then served an LDS Mission in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He loved the Gospel and all of the opportunities he had to serve in the Church throughout his life.

He enrolled at Ricks College and graduated in May 1966. It was during this time that he met and fell in love with Nancy Hollist. They were married on November 23, 1966 in the Idaho Falls Temple. They moved to Provo where Evan continued his education at BYU.

Evan owned and operated Meyers Brothers Feedlot and forever cherished the relationships that were developed over the years in the Cattle Industry. He was selected as Idaho's Outstanding Young Farmer by the Jaycees in 1977. He served on the Board of Directors for the Idaho Livestock PCA and the Idaho Cattleman's Association.

Evan spent 18 years working at Erickson Pontiac GMC. He made wonderful friends there and loved to spend time there even after his retirement.

Evan loved to have fun and was the life of the party. He loved playing all sports and also watching his children and grandchildren compete in athletics. Evan LOVED to golf with his friends and family and traveled often to play with them any chance he got.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years Nancy; his children Anna Zollinger (David), Trevor Meyers (Lara), Sally Taylor (Brandon), Tyler Meyers (Amber), Kristina Gwilliam (Eric) and Son-in-law Bryan Miller; 20 Grandchildren; and Two Great Grandchildren.

Evan is preceded in death by his parents, and his daughter Lisa Miller.
