Faye Mernee Davies, 82, passed away Tuesday, June 13th at the family home in Lyman, Idaho. She was born October 21, 1934 to Alma Wilburn Greenhalgh and Ethel Marguerite Hiatt at the family home in Wilford, Idaho. She was the middle child of a family of 17.
She attended schools in Wilford, South Fremont High School and graduated from Ricks College.
On August 25, 1954 she married Dean M. Davies in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They lived in Oregon, Washington and Orofino, Idaho before moving to Lyman in 1973. Two sons, Jeffrey and Val were born to them during this time. She worked at several jobs and at the time of retirement she worked with the finance department at the food services at Ricks College.
Faye was hard worker having a beautiful yard and garden. She and her husband Dean served 34 years as officiators in the Idaho Falls and Rexburg Temples. She loved to cook and was a talented harmonica player.
She is survived by husband, Dean Davies of Lyman, her sons; Jeffery (Kirsten) of Blackfoot, Idaho, and Val (Kayleen) of Idaho Falls, Idaho as well as 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 29 step great grandchildren. She is also survived by 3 sisters; Joyce Chapple of Rigby, Idaho, Barbara (Leo) Rigby of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Natella (Lynn) Romrell of Sugar City, Idaho and 3 brothers; Sylvan (Margaret) Greenhalgh of Idaho Falls, Lloyd (DeAnn) Greenhalgh of Rigby and Dennis (Kathy) Greenhalgh of Wilford.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alma and Ethel Greenhalgh, a daughter-in-law, Tamara Davies, a great grandson, two sisters; Dorothly Leffler and Norma Ball, eight brothers; Keith, LaMar, Emrys, Dale, Nyle, Brent, Larry and Terry Greenhalgh.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 17th at the Rexburg South Stake Center. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home and again from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Plano Cemetery.
