Obituary

Our beloved Mother and Grandmother, Faye Edith Renner Gummow, 94, of Rexburg, died on May 16, 2013, at Madison Memorial Hospital in Rexburg of natural causes.

She was born September 13, 1918 at View, Idaho, to John Andrew Renner and Jessie Virginia O'Fallon. She attended school at the Albion Normal School, traveling by horseback from her family's ranch near Albion.

She married Clarence Everett Gummow on April 18, 1934. Their marriage was solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple on June 1, 1985. During the first years of her married life she worked with her husband in ranching. She worked as a cook for the Cassia County School District and Cassia Memorial Hospital. Later she worked as a nurse's aide at the hospital. She lived in Albion, Shoshone, Gooding, Burley and Rexburg, Idaho.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in numerous teaching callings in the Sunday School, Young Women and Relief Society. She was a member of the I.O.O.F. Rebekah Lodge in Burley for 53 years. She belonged to the Farm and Home Extension Club, receiving countless ribbons and prizes for her cooking, baking, canning, crocheting and quilts. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

Faye is survived by her daughters, Louise (John) Poindexter of Packwood, Washington, Louella (Allen) Mink of Salem, Idaho; a son, Clarence (Sheila) Gummow of Rexburg; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers Earl Renner, Lawrence Renner, Albert Renner, Ray Renner, Roy Renner and Jay Renner; and three sisters Myrl Renner Brannon, Mae Renner Woodall and Ida Renner Anderson.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, at the Rexburg Idaho North Stake Center. The family will receive friends Saturday from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. at the stake center prior to services. Interment will be in the View Cemetery, southeast of Burley, at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
