IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Frankie
Nilsen
April 6, 1951 – July 27, 2025
Frankie Lyn Nilsen, age 74, passed away peacefully in her home in Rexburg, Idaho, on July 27th, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, compassion and unwavering devotion to others.
Born with a heart full of grace, Frankie dedicated her life to nurturing and teaching, not only as a beloved second grade teacher for many years, but also as a devoted mother to her five children. Her warmth filled every classroom she entered, shaping the lives of countless young minds with patience, joy and a gentle spirit. Students, colleagues and parents alike often spoke of her as a rare soul-someone who made the world a little brighter just by being in it.
To know Frankie was to feel unconditionally loved. She was the kindest, most loving woman in the world-a beacon of comfort and support to all who crossed her path. Whether offering a listening ear, a warm hug, or words of encouragement, Frankie had a remarkable gift for making others feel seen, valued and safe. With a spunky spirit and just the right touch of irreverence, Frankie brought laughter and warmth wherever she went. Her legacy is one of generosity, empathy, and a fierce love for the people around her.
Her love for her family was boundless. She poured her heart into raising her children with strength, tenderness and joy, leaving behind not just memories but values that will echo through generations. Frankie is survived by her daughter Miriam Nicolosi (and her husband John), her son Robert Smith (and his wife Angelique), her son Dave Smith, her son Matt Smith, and her son Josh Smith (and his wife Camilla).
Frankie's presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the lessons she taught and the love she gave so freely. A celebration of life will be held in accordance with her wishes. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor her memory by performing an act of kindness in your community-just as she did everyday of her beautiful life.
