Gae Bernice Connell Taylor, 79, passed away at her home from cancer, surrounded by loved ones on May 23, 2018 in Rexburg Idaho. Throughout her sickness she remained positive and courageous right up to the very end.

She was born June 6, 1938 in Roberts Idaho to Vernal and Eva Connell. She was the oldest of 4 children. She attended schools in Lewisville and Rigby Idaho. After high school she attended Ricks College and later BYU in Provo, Utah.

In 1956 she met the loved of her life, Gerald Taylor. Two years later, they were married for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union they were blessed with six children. They would have been married 60 years on the 11th of June.

Mom and Dad after living in Provo, came to Rexburg and raised their family here for the past 60 years. After the kids were raised they spent the winter months in St. George, she has many friends and loved ones.

Throughout her life she was a never ending example of love and hard work. She never stopped showing those around her the goodness and beauty she always wanted to portray. She was a very talented gardener, seamstress, decorator and homemaker.

Gae loved her family and is the Grandmother to 25 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren, she has touched many lives.

She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in many callings, her faith never wavered and she loved genealogy and spent many hours researching her family tree.

She is survived by her loving husband Gerald Taylor, six children; David (Linda) Taylor of Rexburg, Idaho, Leslie Garner of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Lynda (Mark) Rudd of Rexburg, Idaho, Bruce (Tina) Taylor of St. George, Utah, Julie (Brett) Hugie of Logan, Utah, Michael (Katie) Taylor of Smithfield, Utah. She is also survived a brother Larry (Eileen) Connell of Yakima, Washington, sister DeeAnna (Brent) Andrus of Las Vegas, Nevada, and a brother Evan (Jeanette) Connell of Roach, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at the Rexburg East LDS Stake, 387 S 4th E. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 and again Wednesday morning from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. both times at the church. Interment will be in the Rexburg Cemetery.
