Gail Allan Cazier, devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather passed away quietly at home surrounded by his family on May 19, 2017, following a stroke. Gail was born September 1, 1931, the second of three children to Allan R. Cazier and Hazel Marble. He graduated from St. Anthony High School in 1949, received his Bachelor's Degree from Ricks College in 1952 and his Master's Degree from the University of Idaho in 1957. He was called to serve a mission to the Samoan Islands, but because of the Korean War, missions were cancelled.
While attending Ricks College he met and married the love of his life, Yvonne Briggs. They were married in the Idaho Falls Temple on June 26, 1952. They are the parents of six children, and have 29 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Early in his career, Gail taught Math and Science at Ririe High School. Two years later he accepted employment as a mathematician for the National Reactor Testing Station west of Idaho Falls where he worked for over 20 years. He then purchased the Glenn E. Clark Business College which he operated for three years. Following its sale, he was employed by Ricks College as the Director of Computer Services in 1976. Gail served in that position for 20 years until he retired in 1996. He treasured the many friends and associates he made throughout his career.
Gail and Yvonne loved their family and enjoyed traveling together. They visited many states in the union, Europe, Russia, Taiwan, Canada, Alaska, Hawaii and many more destinations.
Gail and Yvonne loved missionary work and served two full-time LDS missions and together accepted many part-time missionary assignments. Because of his experience in the computing field, he assisted the missions where he served with computing expertise, streamlining and enhancing many processes.
He served in many church callings including various teaching assignments, scoutmaster four times, chairman of two scouting districts, as a Wood Badge Trainer, Bishop twice, Counselor in a Stake Presidency, an officiator in the Rexburg Temple, and as Stake Patriarch for many years. He loved signing in ward choirs and especially enjoyed the many opportunities he had to sign for special events and at many funerals.
Gail is survived by his wife, Yvonne; sister, Edith Park; six children, Vicki Gray (Les), David (Julie), Paul (Bronda), Bonnie Conway (Doug), Michael (Diana), Janet Rigby (Larry); preceded in death by his parents, Allan and Hazel Cazier, his sister, Liona Palmer, and two grandchildren, Nicholas Cazier and Ashley Cazier.
