Randall Galen Barney, 64, of Monteview, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016 surrounded by his loving family at home. He was born March 10, 1952 in Rexburg, Idaho to Randall Barney and Dawnella Weber Barney.
He was raised in Mud Lake and attended schools at West Jefferson. He took much pride in his work; farming, trucking, excavation and construction businesses. He was a dedicated working man, adored by his wife, children and grandchildren.
He also enjoyed many hobbies such as horses, fishing, hunting, camping and spending time with family and friends. After years of chasing one another Galen and Cindy Sakota ran away to Rigby where they were married on April 11, 2011. They continued to enjoy many adventures together over the next several years until his health no longer allowed.
He is survived by his loving wife Cindy Barney of Monteview and ten children; Brenda (Dave) Wattles of Boise, Idaho, Tekla (Darren) Call of Texas, Randy Barney of Nampa, Idaho, Brent Barney of Nampa, Derick (Amy) Barney of Idaho Falls, Jessica (Ben) debour of Nampa, Amber Connelly of Nampa, Brittany (Tad) Aschraft of Idaho Falls, Angela (Glenn) Armstrong of St. Anthony, Brodi (Erica) Sakota of Rigby; his mother, Dawnella Barney of Monteview; sisters, Lynette (Lewis) Dowdy of Terreton, Dawnetta Barney of Pocatello, Maycee Barney of Terreton; 19 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father, Randall Barney; an older brother, William Brent Barney; and his grandparents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, at the Mud Lake Community Church, with Pastor Mike Ghiglia officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Burial will be in the West Jefferson Memorial Park.
