Gayle Sorensen, 81, of Rigby, Idaho, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 25, 2026.
Gayle was born on January 4, 1945, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Ray and Fern Sorensen. She was raised in Tetonia and graduated from Teton High School in 1963. She went on to get her cosmetology license in 1964.
On September 18, 2003, she received her Endowments in the Idaho Falls Temple. She loved serving in the library in her ward. Gayle had a brilliant mind and memory. She was a gifted writer and could tell stories through rhyme. Most of those are published in her book, “Pull Your Hat Down and Come-a Ridin”. She also submitted several articles which were published in various newspapers.
She loved visiting family and friends, taking pictures, and anything that would give her an excuse to ride her horse. Later in her life, one of her happiest days were those when she went to the Temple. She was a faithful friend to many and lovingly called “Auntie Gayle” by most. She will be missed by all.
Gayle is proceeded in death by her parents and her sister and brother-in-law, Theda and Darrell Neville. She leaves behind her brothers: Charles (Judith) Cook and Barry (Ana) Sorensen, both of Tetonia, Idaho, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Her funeral will be held at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg, ID on June 6, 2026, with a viewing at 9:30 AM and services at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Hayden Cemetery in Tetonia.
