Carry Gene Harris Hill, 71, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away on December 31, 2021 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving husband and two daughters.

She was born on October 19, 1950 in Rexburg, Idaho, to Vernon and Pearl Harris. Gene was raised on the family ranch in Cache, near Tetonia, in Teton Valley, Idaho.

She attended elementary school in Tetonia and high school in Driggs. She later received her Associates Degree at Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. In high school Gene developed many great friendships. She enjoyed running track in both elementary and high school. After high school she was working at Rammells Merc in Tetonia when she met Blake Hill. They rode back and forth to college and then began dating. They were later married on May 19, 1972 for Time and All Eternity in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. After a few years they started their family with a daughter Leslie and five years later another daughter, LaChelle joined their family.

Gene was a lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in numerous callings, including Primary worker, Young Women's Presidency, Relief Society Presidency, Library, Stake Primary Presidency, dedicated monthly minister and supportive Bishop's wife.

She had many interests and hobbies including gardening, keeping a very tidy organized home, spotless vehicle and outside decorations for every holiday. Gene was a very loving Grandmother, her family meant everything to her, she was always so proud of each and every one of them.

She is survived by her eternal companion, Blake Hill of Idaho Falls, her daughters; Leslie (Scott) Hymas of Sugar City, Idaho, LaChelle (Ian) Layton of Blackfoot, Idaho and her nine grandchildren; Jace, Brookelle, Kory, and Clayton Hymas and Carter, Riley, Weston, Mason, and Porter Layton. She is also survived by her older brother, Neil (Jeri) Harris of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and a sister, MaeDene (Garry) Jardine of Tetonia, Idaho.

Gene was preceded in death by her parents Vernon and Pearl Harris.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at the Eagle Rock Stake Center, 2020 S. Charlotte Dr., Idaho Falls, Idaho, 83402. The family will welcome friends Tuesday, January 4th from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. and again Wednesday morning from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services, both times at the church. Interment will be in the Cache Clawson cemetery in Tetonia.
