Gene Allen Kennedy, 64 of St. Anthony, died Thursday, August 15, 2013 at his home.
He was born January 12, 1949 in Boise, ID to Francis Harry and Edith Byars Kennedy. He was raised in Island Park and wilford. He attended school in Fremont county and graduated from South Fremont High School in 1967.
He served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years stationed in Florida. Gene returned to Idaho and became a Plumbing Contractor and also did heating, wells, and excavation work. He worked in this business for over 35 years.
He was known for his abilities to repair almost anything. He was innovative, had good work ethics and when a service call came in he was there almost immediately. He was very dependable and made many friends over the years.
Gene also farmed and ran a small herd of cattle. He had a sense of humor, enjoyed fishing and singing.
On September 2 7, 2002 Gene married Deb Griffel. They developed a deep bond of love and trust. Gene was grateful for Deb's willingness to become the secretary and bookkeeper for his business, and his right hand assistant with the farming and livestock.
When he became sick she was his care giver around the clock and by his side on his passing.
Gene is survived by his wife Deb; a daughter, Barbara of Parker, ID; two sons, West (Joanne) Wise of Alaska and Frank of Colorado; two grandchildren, Sean and Ashley of Alaska; and a brother Harry Kennedy of Wilford. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ray.
Funeral services will be Monday, August 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Bert Flamm Mortuary (581 E. 1st N., St. Anthony). The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. and Monday form 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. both at the Bert Flamm Mortuary. Burial will be in the Parker Cemetery.
