Obituary

Grace Agnes Sorensen Wood, 91, of Salem, died Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at home. She was born January 11, 1920 in Sugar City, Idaho to Verna Mae and Edward Sorensen.

She attended Teton Elementary and graduated from a private school in Pocatello. During her life she lived in Teton, Rexburg, Idaho Falls, Alpine Wyoming and would spend the winters in Yuma Arizona.

She married Owen Wood on December 28, 1938. They later divorced.

She loved her flower garden. She enjoyed bowling and golfing. She was the Charter President of the Rexburg Golf Association. She also liked to knit afghans, hook rugs and do plastic canvas. She also loved her soap operas.

She is survived by her children Jacqueline W. (Bruce A.) Lantz and Steve (Darlene) Wood all of Rexburg, ID, as well as 10 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Gerry (Karen) Sorensen, Ralph Sorensen, LaRue "Tootie" Fleetwood all of Idaho Falls, ID, and Melvin Sorensen of Layton, UT.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Rex Sorensen, Weston Sorensen, Leslie Sorensen, a sister, Evelyn Jenkins and a grandchild, Josie Grace Wood.

Funeral services will 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 9th at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and again from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services, at the funeral home for both visitations. Interment will be in the Sugar City Cemetery.
