Obituary

William Grant Jardine, our, beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather and husband passed away in Rexburg on June 19, 2012 surrounded by loved ones.

Grant was born October 19, 1924 to John William Jardine and Rhoda M. Geisler in Lewisville, Idaho. He attended schools in Roberts, Rigby, Annis and Menan. He graduated from Midway High School. He then attended Utah State Agriculture College. He then served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a corpsman.

As a young man he worked with his father on the family farm and ran cattle with his three uncles; Chet, Ern and Bill Geisler.

Grant married his sweetheart, Barbara Ann Dansie on July 17, 1946 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She died May 27, 1997. He was trained by Barbara's brother Jerry Dansie to be a jeweler. Grant owned and operated his own Jewelry stores in Driggs and Ashton Idaho. He retired from the jewelry business in the late 60's. He then worked at Ricks College and retired from there in 1989.

Grant married Belva Ilene Weeks on July 31, 1998 and they made their home in Rexburg. Grant was active in the Rotary Club in Ashton and drove school bus for years in Ashton. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in 3 bishoprics, on the high council, and 8 years as bishop as well as a temple ordinance worker and sealer.

He is survived by his wife Belva of Rexburg, son Richard (Nancy) of Rexburg, daughters, Kristine Jardine of Templeton, California, & Carol Jardine of Horseshoe Bend, Idaho, 16 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife Barbara, 5 sisters, 1 brother, a son, Kenneth and a grandson Caleb Collins.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 23, 2012 at the Rexburg 16th Ward Chapel (612 South Hidden Valley Road - Rexburg). The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Lewisville Cemetery.
