Grant Moedl found June 26,2011:
Grant was a gentle, kind, understated man with a great love of family, friends and the outdoors.
Grant was an accomplished climber and skilled outdoorsman. He possessed a passionate love for the mountains of Idaho, especially the Teton Range. He climbed the Grand Teton 38 times during his lifetime, plus one near-fatal ascent on a stormy New Years Eve in 1986. He also climbed extensively in the Wind River Range, Joshua Tree, Mexico (Pico de Orizaba), Alaska and Yosemite, including Half-Dome and El Capitan. He loved to nordic, backcountry and alpine ski.
He tenderly cared about his ailing mother Ruth until her death last September at age 93. He was loyal, true and utterly devoted to his family.
Did Grant inspire you to be more selfless? To strive to be a more devoted son? A more attentive father? Did you see something new in the mountains, rocks and wildflowers after hiking with him? Did you chat with him about his adventures and become drawn in by his quiet stories and his passion for nature? Does his gentle laugh resound in your ears? It was Grant's joy to share the beauty and adventure he experienced with you.
Grant X. Moedl, 57, was born to Raymond Moedl and Ruth Wright Moedl on June 9, 1953 in Rexburg, Idaho and passed away on March 2, 2011 in Elmore County, Idaho.

They climbed and camped together, worked title together around the United States and, after 21 years of marriage, were blessed with the birth of Alexandra X. Moedl. Alex was the greatest reward of Grant's life. She wears his smile and carries his legacy of kindness.
