Obituary
Hans William Jensen, 80, of Salem, Idaho passed away December 20,2017, at Madison Memorial Hospital.
Hans was born in Salem, Idaho on February 12, 1937. He was the son of William and Emma Jensen. He graduated from Sugar Salem High School. He married Wylene Brown May 29, 1969, in the Idaho Falls Temple. They had seven children. Family meant everything to him. You could always find him at one of his kid's, and later his grandkid's, wrestling matches, baseball or softball games, basketball, or anything else the kids were involved in. He will always be remembered for his friendly smile, fantastic sandwiches, and his sense of humor
His first job was working at the Challenge Creamery in Rexburg, Idaho. He served a mission in the North German mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After returning from his mission he went back to work for Challenge Creamery in Rexburg in addition to farming. After the Teton Dam broke, he found work at the CAL Ranch store in Rexburg. He worked there for 28 plus years. He was always the person people asked for when they came in because of his ability to make people feel welcome and his ability to serve their need. After his retirement of more than twelve years customers still ask him to come back and work at CAL Ranch.
He is survived by his loving wife Wylene of 48 years, six Children: Brian (Heather) Jensen Montpelier, Idaho Tamera (Rodney) Larsen, Providence, Utah, Lori (John) Curry, Morehead, Kentucky, Kristi (Scott) Hall, Providence, Utah, Debbie Jensen, Rexburg, Idaho, Cody Jensen, Rexburg, Idaho. He has 16 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Will and Emma Jensen, a brother (stillborn), and daughter Emma Louise.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 23, at the Salem LDS Chapel, 3462 North Salem Road, in Rexburg. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg, and Saturday from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Rexburg Cemetery.
