Harlo Bert Willmore, 80, of Idaho Falls, died February 7, 2011, of natural causes at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. He was born August 5, 1930 in Rexburg, Idaho to Ephraim and Viola Rigby Willmore, at a little farming community called Hibbard, located five miles from the present town of Rexburg. He was the second boy and the sixth child born to a family of ten children.
He spent his youth growing up on a small farm. He has always known hard work with his brothers and sisters on the farm due to the fact that his father had a bad heart and it was up to them to perform the task of operating the farm.
He married Mary Margene Blunck on January 17, 1951 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They spent their first years in Rexburg where they had three children. They were divorced years later.
He opened and operated a Phillips 66 service station until 1957. They then moved to Kamiah, Idaho where he became a cattle rancher. He had many occupations such as mechanic, rancher, heavy equipment operator, truck driver and logger, that took him from Southeast Idaho, Northern Idaho and clear to Colombia, South America to export logs from the country for Potlatch Lumber Company. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and hunting. He spent many winters in Arizona, enjoying the warmth and made many good friends while there. He always enjoyed playing cards and going to the Senior Citizens center and the Eagles to play pinochle or bridge.
He is survived by his children, Maurine (Craig) Moss of Boise, Stephen (Sally) Willmore of Burley, Sharma (Robert) Smead of Ammon; two sisters, Mary Koeper and Martha (Danny) Goodman all of Post Falls; 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brother and five sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 11th at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. both times at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Rexburg Cemetery.
