Heath William Rushton, 56, of Rexburg Idaho passed away April 30, 2023 of natural causes.
He was born February 24, 1967 to LaVar and Betty Rushton in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He moved to Rexburg, Idaho at the age of 9 just in time for the Teton Dam to break. He attended Central Elementary, Sugar-Salem Junior and Sugar-Salem High School.
He married his high school sweetheart, Teresa Wakely on October 24, 1987. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on April 14. They had two children, Zackary and Andrew.
Heath worked with his dad in the auto body business, in a cabinet shop and he was an equipment operator. He enjoyed running any type of machinery, and anything mechanical. He enjoyed snowmobiling, motorcycles, trucks, tractors, Loved cooking, eating, and his family. Loved his kids and animals. He was super competitive. And was a practical joker.
His able bodied life was cut short in 1997 at the age of 30. He was in a snowmobiling accident and sustained traumatic brain injuries. These injuries would cause it so that he could no longer walk, talk or eat on his own. His wife took care of him for 6 years and his mom for the last 19 years.
He is survived by his sons Zackary and Andrew. His parents LaVar and Betty Rushton. His sister Rebecca (Stephen) Siddoway. His niece and nephew Jessica (Dallin) Howell and Thomas (Chelsie) Siddoway. His ex-wife Teresa Rushton.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Charles and Eunice Jackson, Vyrle Whitaker. His uncles Richard Gout, Jay Jackson and Wesley Taylor. His aunt Marilyn Taylor.
Graveside services will be Thursday, May 4th at 11:00 a.m. at the Rexburg Cemetery.
A viewing will be held at Flamm Funeral Home on May 4th, 2023 at 10:00 a.m.
