Helen Marie Cureton, 84, of Rexburg, passed away of natural causes on, Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Homestead Assisted Living in Rexburg.
She was born in Climax Springs Missouri on November 14, 1929 to Marion Francis Thomas and Grace Mae Thomas.
On July 29, 1960 she married Robert Cureton.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in many callings. She loved doing genealogy. In 2003 she served a Family History mission in Salt Lake City with her husband Robert Cureton.
She worked for Ricks College for many years and received her associate's degree from Ricks College in 1986. She was an avid reader and loved to write. Up until her illness she was writing her first novel. The most important thing in her life was her family.
She is survived by her children, William (DeEsta) Cureton, Duston (Gwen) Cureton, Lucinda Whiting, Kimball Cureton, Matthew (Lisa) Cureton and her step children, Edwin Kennedy, Barbara (Russ) Sherf, as well as 14 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 15, at the Rexburg Center Stake, 590 Summerwood Drive, in Rexburg. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home and Wednesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Rexburg Cemetery.
